The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the immensely successful video game Call of Duty, has died in a vehicle crash in the state of California at the age of 55.

The tragic news was verified by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio that he helped create.

The influential game designer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and burst into flames on a freeway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, as reported by.

"This is an unimaginable loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, those closest to him, and the countless individuals inspired by his work," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts stated.
