Ex- Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have announced that a former physician stands accused of performing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents outline the forty-five charges he is charged with:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
Authorities have asked anyone with concerns to get in touch with the investigating team.
